Music Clears Up the BLAHS!

Just today I was reminded of the power of Music. I was having quite a challenging morning. A blah morning!

Blah meaning unmotivated and just not in the mood to actually START my day. Being a small business owner means that I am in charge of holding ME accountable to get work done and make progress. This is great, I love the freedom that being an entrepreneur provides, however, that also means that I cannot just let my days get away from me. Even when I wake up feeling blah.

That is where the power of Music comes in and how I find that it can usually flip my mood around. Today, I needed to turn blah me to dancing-in-my-chair-motivated me.

I needed a shot of that Carpe Diem, Haha.

I decided on streaming some Pandora - Billy Joel Radio. It just felt right, but it really depends on the first song. First song, Suspicious Minds, Elvis Presley - a really nice start…then we move to You May Be Right, Billy Joel - let the (chair) dancing commence. After a few more great tunes, I was much better. That’s all it took, the singing along and the make me wanna dance beats just instantly did it for me.

Music is a big part of my creative process.

I love music for this reason. Music just enriches my life. It's like creating a soundtrack for each day of my journey. My taste can change, but music is music and it speaks to my soul.

I usually have some kind of music playing while I am creating my art. I created this piece of art that basically symbolizes the sound of my soul when I am making progress towards my dreams and living my best life. For the original piece, I used white corrugated paper, inks, paint, patterned paper, cloth, glitter glue, coarse pumice gel, light molding paste and gesso.

I am sure everyone has their own “thing”. That one, go-to thing that can turn any challenging moment or blah day into a shot of Carpe Diem. I am still discovering what else speaks to my soul when I am feeling blah. That’s what it's all about though…living each day, figuring out what keeps me going and what keeps me feeling my best. When I feel my best, I want to do more, hence progress is made and goals are realized.

Thank You God for everything music, I am truly grateful!

Have a productive day all - Carpe Diem!
