My Summer Slow Down - Home Edition

Summertime is officially here!

Summertime is about slowing down, but this year, I am doing more than that. I’m hitting pause on work and hitting repeat on fun and frolicking to ensure this will be a memorable summer.

It’s time to adjust to staying indoors and ensure the AC keeps working. Staying indoors and having a working air conditioner go hand in hand. If there were no AC around here, it would be unbearable. Our AC is maintained every six months, and we monitor the thermostat regularly during the summer. Staying indoors is easy for me. All I want to do is stay home with my family, working in my craft studio. This year, we are not traveling to cooler weather, and since this is Ralph’s second AZ summer of his entire life, he’s going to need more fun. That means more playing ball and running around the house during the day. We get so much joy from this activity, so doing more of this kind of frolicking makes sense.

Sleeping in late and staying up late are summertime treats. I have changed my schedule and moved all home chores to the evenings. I’m sticking to my chores and including more breaks to keep it fun. It’s easier to get through chores while watching a movie and hanging out with the family. Crafting and family time are my priorities, so I am pausing some work tasks! I have already decided on a group of work tasks that will be put on pause for the summer. We will see how long the pause lasts, but that is another blog for another time. I am using the extra time gained from this pause for crafting and family fun.

Thank you God for all of my blessings.

Ultimately, I thank God for all of our comforts. Staying indoors is heaven on earth for a homebody like me, especially during an Arizona summer. It’s a blessing to enjoy summertime indoors, make more memories, and have fun indoors when it’s over 100 degrees outside. I am excited for more movie nights, creative projects, and fun and frolicking this summer.
